TEAM RISP- Red Sox: 9 for 14 White Sox: 3 for 14
David Ortiz slammed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Boston Red Sox defeated
the Chicago (AL) White Sox 13 to 7 at US Cellular Field.
Ortiz was unconscious all evening. The Chicago (AL) fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He clubbed
a two-run home run in the 3rd inning, belted a three-run homer in the 4th
inning and delivered a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Due to a poorly
pitched ballgame, scoring in 6 different innings was still not enough for
Chicago (AL) to come away with the victory.
The win was credited to Steven Wright(1-0) who went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing
4 runs. Chris Tillman(0-1) absorbed the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 2 walks
in 4 and 2/3 innings.
'I was really seeing the ball tonight,' Ortiz said 'I wish it was always this
easy.'
